Let twenty20 Be Heard
Let twenty20 Be Heard is a new project to make the poetry and fiction within our issues fully accessible to the visually impaired, as well as those with reading disabilities (e.g. dyslexia).
We will release an audio version of each issue, and just like our online issues, each will be free.
For this project, we need past, current, and accepted future twenty20 Journal contributors to record themselves reading the stories/poems contained within each issue, and send them to benjamin@twenty20publishing.com.
We also need substitute readers, in case someone is unable to record their poem or story, does not feel comfortable reading, or does not respond to this call. Substitute readers do not have to be past contributors (but can be). We want as many as possible, so if you’re interested, tell us at benjamin@twenty20publishing.com.
If you are a past contributor and for any reason do not want a reading of your poem or story to be available, you must opt out by explicitly stating this to us at benjamin@twenty20publishing.com. Keep in mind this is a service to those who cannot see, or otherwise cannot read.
As this is a project with purely benevolent intentions, we offer no payment for readings, whether by past contributors, or substitute readers, except the knowledge that you have done a good deed. All the audio issues will be available for free, directly from us. But should we choose to also offer our audio issues on CD at any point in the future, or through paid distribution channels, we will divide all proceeds between two suitable charities: one for the visually impaired, and one for the otherwise reading impaired.
